Here are a few tips on what to expect.
Who are you seeing?
You will be treated by one of our trained and licensed massage therapists.
Show up clean.
Attention to hygiene keeps everyone safe
Arrive on time.
We recommend arriving no more than 15mins before your appointment time.
Be prepared to undress
Take off only as much clothing as you are comfortable removing. Our draping policy requires our clients to be covered with a sheet/blanket. Only exposing the areas of your body you expect to need to be massaged.
Be ready to communicate.
Feel free to tell the therapist if the pressure is too hard or too soft, if there is a special area that needs work, if the music is too loud, if you're cold, etc. They want you to be comfortable so you can completely relax.
Quiet your Mind and Melt into the table.
This is on of few times you can actually do NOTHING. Take advantage of it.Instead of "helping" the therapist by holding your arm up for them, or turning your head for them, be a dead weight and let them control the movement. This is something that gets easier the more massage you get.
Be prepared to schedule several massage sessions.
The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative, so the more often you get a massage, the better you will feel and the more quickly your body will respond. From one session to the next, relaxation deepens as the chronic patterns of stress in the body are affected and released. If you're getting massage to address chronic muscular tension or recovery from a soft tissue injury, more than one session is usually needed.
